My internship journeys

Well, three months seem to be so long at the beginning. I used to think that being as an internee at VOD seems to has no so much fun. However, today (28.10.20) is our farewell day. I can see that there are a lot of tears today. Most of us were crying because it is our last day, but let me tell you about this later. Now, let me show you about my story of internship program which I joined in these three months. So, this is how it start: 

Hi, my name is Dara, a second-year student at the Department of Media and Communication. This is the end of my semester 2 in year 2. I feel so useless at that time since I got nothing to do beside sleep and eat. So why don’t we make time useful? I try to seek for job and internship program to do. And finally, guess what? I got one. I found that VOD (Voice of Democracy) is looking for internship student who would like to join and work as a reporter. So, I decide to join in. I think that this short introduction is enough for you to understand how I and VOD are met already. No need to talk much.

 This is bong Khen, my boss. He (bong Khen) is the first person I met when I go to VOD because he is the one who I contacted for this position. He such a big brother for me since he took a great care for five of us. He provides us the opportunity to join in VOD. He teaches us how to work as a reporter. He allowed us to experience reporting news on field. That was a really great experience. All I want to say is thank you bong for this opportunity.

So, this is Oudom, one of the funniest people in the team. Oudom is also one of my school mates. He joined this internship before me. I met him when start my job for first day. We do not get closed with each other before since he is in fee-paying class and I am in scholarship class. Oudom would like to use a lot of dirty words, but it is fine for us since a dirty mind friend make you feel so much fun. He is good at writing news and contact with the source. He is an open-minded person. He always makes other people happy. It is so nice to work with you my dear.

Time flied, one week has passed. That was the second week of my internship. And this boy has come. He is Sothea, one of my classmates. Sothea is a good friend of mine. He always listens to my problem and cheers me up. I keep him as one of my brother, because I like his attitude and the way he makes fun. One thing I miss the most about this guy is gym since we always go to gym after work. Hope we will meet and go to gym again soon brother.

Another chapter:

This is bro Kheang, the eldest guy in the squad. He is such as good brother for me. He joined VOD the same time that Sothea joined. In team, we can say that he is the most proper one since he rarely talk to other people beside us. However, he is such a good planner because the trip can success because of his effort. He works hard and let us enjoy. I am going to miss your (ផ្លោក) word xD.

This is Naraut, a fake innocent boy. Every time we talk about dirty thing, he always pretends he knows nothing but deep down he could be the legendary one (JK). But he also good at making joke. He is such a good boy because he takes care people around him so well. Keep the great work bro and stop late for work. Lol. Ohhh I forgot, he also joined the same time as bro Kheang and Sothea.

Here we come, this is bong Sirivadh (our oppa Lol). I started to feel closed to him since the first day we met. He is such our big brother. He takes care of us all just like he takes of his own brothers. When we had problem with technical, he always tries to solve it for us. What I missed about this brother is the way we make fun with each other. He was the sponsor for our farewell party. All in all, he is our big brother. Thank you Oppa. Borahae xD.

Remember about our trip to Mondokiri? This is bong KongKea. She is the one who hold this project. Without her we will not be able to go there. I met her at that time. She is quite young which it commits me to call her younger sister at that time. However, after we know each other, she is not young as I thought, she was 30 and has a baby already xD. What I like about her was she is such a great sister I ever have. She takes care of everyone and what important thing she also meet the same problem just like I did. However, she is still strong and step forward, and she also cheer me up for my problem. Thank you bong, you are the best.

This is Mae Hong; He is such a great Mae. Even we close with him in a short time, but we really enjoy spending time with him. All I know about him is he like dirty word. And his favorite child is Oudom. But we still like you Mae hong xD.

Let’s move to another chapter.

This girl is Theary. She is 23 years old already, but she seems quite young and cheer. I got to know her after Sothea goes work on field with her. We rarely talk to each other at that time. Until we went to Battambong together, things seem to be changed. We started to get closed little by little. What I know about this girl is she is always new Lol. She always updates her joke from time to time and every day. One thing that I laugh the most is when she said “Pop Pop Pop Pop ប្រជាប្រិយ” ។ I never can stand with this word. However, without her the team will be silent.

Reachny, Theary’s friend. I met her before I met Theary. The first time we met is when we eat lunch with Bong Khen and my teammate. She used to tell me that I am the one who talk to her a lot at that time unlike the other. What I know about this girl is that she is a pure person, she takes care people around her, she happy most of the time, a positive person, and never judge people by their appearance. What I remember about this girl is when we called each other future and everyone was getting jealous xD. That was a hilarious thing ever. All I can say is it is a great to get you know you. You are a good girl.

The last chapter

This is the end of my internship journey. I have met a lot of experiences either good and bad. I learned so many different things along this journey. Even though it is a short period of time, but it means a lot to me. All I want to say is thank you all my teammate, thank you all Bong Bong above, thank you all the reporter I knew, and thank you people around me. Y’all are such the amazing people I ever have. I just hope we will meet again in the future time. Bye Bye VOD.
